On September 22, 2011, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development continued to carry out the China City Car-Free Day activities across the country. The theme of this event is: Green transportation and urban future aims to guide cities to build a green transportation system with low consumption, low pollution and low emission that is closely related to sustainable development, seek improvement ideas for urban transportation development under the dual pressure of urbanization and motorization, prevent and control “urban diseases”, alleviate traffic congestion, reduce air pollution, reduce traffic accidents, and enhance the sustainable development capacity of cities.
Car-free Day is not only a journey to reflect on the mode of urban development, but also requires the participation and action of the public. Drive less than a day, car sharing, subway, public bus (electric) car, cycling, walking… Green travel, make yourself healthier, make the city more livable.
The company’s trade union issued an initiative of “driving one day less” to all employees, and hoped that everyone would actively cooperate with the theme of “green transportation, urban future”. It is understood that on September 22, many employees of the company who originally drove to work have changed to take public transport or walk to work, responding to the call with practical actions to support low-carbon, green and environmental protection.
