Expanding Export Business: Discussions with the Counselor of the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in China
On March 20th, Li Yumin, Deputy Party Secretary, Vice Chairman, and General Manager of the Provincial Foreign Trade Assets Company, received a delegation led by Shi Yongguo, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in China, and Li Hexiu, First Secretary. The meeting focused on exploring potential opportunities for exporting products from Hebei Province to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Mr. Li expressed his warm welcome to the delegation from the Embassy. He emphasized that in recent years, the Provincial Foreign Trade Assets Company has been committed to implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the provincial government’s directives on high-level opening-up to the outside world. Aligning with national development strategies and initiatives, the company has been focusing on leading the foreign trade industry and driving sectoral growth, actively promoting import and export business, and facilitating new breakthroughs for foreign trade enterprises. As the only state-owned foreign trade enterprise in Hebei Province, the Provincial Foreign Trade Assets Company is capable and willing to provide demand-oriented product export services to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, promoting trade exchanges between the two countries.

Counselor Shi noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Over the years, the two countries have maintained friendly international relations, and Chinese enterprises have made significant contributions to the economic development of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. After a thorough understanding of the company’s situation, he expressed high recognition for its products, technologies, and services. He expressed his willingness to actively promote project cooperation with China and hoped that the two sides could leverage their respective strengths to achieve common development and mutual benefits.
Following the meeting, the delegation visited the company’s production workshops and product exhibition hall. The Provincial Foreign Trade Assets Company, relevant enterprises, and the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in China reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation. Officials from the company’s headquarters, Hebei Digital TradeLink, and Zhongrong Investment accompanied the delegation during the exchange.
This visit and discussion marked a significant step forward in strengthening economic ties between Hebei Province and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. It is expected that through continuous communication and cooperation, both sides will achieve more fruitful results in promoting trade and economic cooperation, contributing to the overall development and prosperity of the region.
